Water and Waste Water

“Water means life”. Our country is suffering with lack of water and considering annual negative rate of raining in this part of world, it means life would be in danger in near future and serious decision to be taken. To manage this situation, actions to be directed in two solutions of “Water Production” and “Re-using Waste Water” except saving water usage. Zeta is in position to provide some pioneer technologies in both direction as listed below.

Water Treatment

Our focus in this section is Ultrafiltration (UF) and Reverse Osmosis (RO) packages based on advanced membranes.

RO Packages are using in pretreatment of water in urban, industrial and sea water desalination projects. We design our packages based on client’s specifications and famous membrane manufacturer parameters based on projects Approved vendor list.

Also, we use turbocharging technic in reject line if we have high pressure in feed line.

UF membranes are the ideal technology for:

  • Production of drinking water and process water from surface water, well water and spring water
  • Pretreatment of sea water in desalination plants in combination with reverse osmosis or thermal treatment
  • Treatment/reuse of waste water
  • Closing water cycles by preparing water for industrial use

Sludge Treatment via Thermal Hydrolysis Process

The most widely used process for conditioning of sewage sludge prior to anaerobic digestion (Pre-digestion Process) is the thermal hydrolysis process (THP) technology. The thermal hydrolysis process consists of a step-wise heating and cooling of sludge and a batch “reaction” (or “holding”) time at the hydrolysis temperature (150 – 170 °C).

The thermal hydrolysis process will achieve the following goals:

  • Reduce the viscosity of the sludge and allow for high dry solids digestion
  • Achieve full sterilization of the treated sludge
  • Increase the conversion of organic matter into biogas
  • Improve the dewater ability of the sludge after digestion
  • Produce a stable, low-odor, high dry solids end product

Swage Water Treatment by MBR Technology

Combining membrane technology with biological reactors for the treatment of wastewaters has led to the development of three generic membrane bioreactors (MBRs):

  • for separation and retention of solids;
  • for bubble-less aeration within the bioreactor;
  • for extraction of priority organic pollutants from industrial wastewaters.

Based on raw wastewater stream characteristics and the requirement that the effluent should be suitable to be treated in the RO system, ZETA is proposing membrane bioreactor (MBR) system.

Electrodeionization (EDI)

Electrodeionization (EDI), a membrane process for removing ion from aqueous feed. Its ability to produce ultrapure water gives significant contributions to chemical and semiconductor industries.

EDI is typically used to polish reverse osmosis (RO) permeate and to replace conventional mixed bed ion exchange, which eliminates the need to store and handle hazardous chemicals used for resin regeneration and associated waste neutralization requirements.

Several layers of ion selective membranes are positioned between an anode and a cathode. The chambers in between these layers alternately either contain mixed bed ion exchanger or are used as concentrate chambers.
